How to transport scaffold boards safely and easily

Today I had a nice and easy job, I went from Cabot Circus, Bristol to the Bristol Wood Project to collect 12 scaffold boards and deliver them to Wick on the outskirts of Bristol.
If you have purchased scaffold boards and now need to get them home I would recommend that you hire a man with van service.
Be honest scaffold boards are almost 4 m long and if you are transporting more than one, tying them to the roof of your car is really not a good idea, just imagine the damage you could do to your roof and other road users if something were to go wrong, just imagine the increase in you insurance premiums and the myriad of other things that could go wrong by trying to save a small amount of money.

Whereas for me, my van is 6 m long, so I had no trouble fitting them into my van, I simply stacked boards side-by-side in piles of six then secured the boards together with a ratchet strap so that they would not fall over in transport.
For the time and mileage (17 miles), it cost them only £40 and they didn't have to lift thing.
Yes that's it.
So if you have clicked on this link then I'm afraid the only honest answer on how to transport scaffold board safely and easily is to get a van or trailer that is big enough to do it! Be good to yourself and your property don't risk doing anything silly, just hire a man with van.
People do some stupid things trying to save a bit of money so don't let this be you!

  2. The worst part of it was that the software only worked intermittently and the data was not accurate. You obviously canot confront anyone about what you have discovered if the information is not right. fax
